FAQ

How are menstrual cups different from tampons?

Aside from being reusable, menstrual cups work by collecting your flow, rather than absorbing it. As a result, they can be left in for longer than tampons and don’t leave you feeling as dried out.

Which size should I choose?

Most folks can wear either size, but you might prefer size A if you’re new to cups, or if you have trouble inserting tampons. Choose size B if you’ve given birth or have a weak pelvic floor.

What’s the best way to clean my cup after use?

Clean the cup with warm water and a mild, unscented and oil-free soap, making sure the tiny holes under the rim are clear. Dry the cup completely before storing in the breathable cotton bag provided.

What if I need to empty it in a public bathroom?

While unlikely, you may need to empty in public (especially if you have heavy flow). If you're uncomfortable exiting the stall to wash your cup, simply remove & empty as usual, then wipe it with toilet paper before reinserting.

When should I replace my cup?

Inspect your cup regularly for signs of deterioration such as a sticky or powdery film, severe discoloration or odor, etc. If you detect any of these signs, or if you experience irritation, it's time to replace it! Once a year is a good rule of thumb.

Holy Guacamole- Life Changer! NEVER GOING BACK TO TAMPONS, EVER.

I was browsing my local refillery when I stumbled upon the Aisle cup. I talked myself into purchasing it for both $$$ and ecological reasons. The staff also did a fantastic job of hyping me up.

Needless to say, I was skeptical but I have worn it for two cycles now and IT HAS BEEN THE BEST DECISION I'VE EVER MADE. Initially, I was very scared about the cup leaking but I have literally not had a SINGLE LEAK. It has made my periods so much easier and worry free. Not to mention, so much more freaking hygienic. The idea of sticking a cotton tampon up there seems so archaic and gross now.

I simply dump the cup every morning after I shower, reinsert, and go about my day until I dump it one last time before bed- That's it! Easy, breazy and perfect for a person like me, who hated worrying about changing my tampons. Also, the cup comes with a super cute soft bag.

Pro Tip: I am a moderately active 22 year old and the A size is perfect for me. It is not too firm.

Loved the Aisle Cup

I used the Aisle cup for my period after trying a few cups, and found it comfortable, soft and easy to use! I have quite a light period, so only use it on the first day and it lasts the full 12 hours, without leaks. I also love the little storage pouch it comes with.

Effective, but tricky to get to open once inserted

This is my first time using a cup, so staying hopeful that I'll get the hang of it soon!

I was pleasantly surprised by how effective it was, and how there were no leaks! Also interesting to see what my flow is like, and feel more connected to my body.

The only challenge I've had is inserting the cup properly. I fold and insert, but when I try to rotate to get the cup to open, sometimes it won't open and I can feel that the cup is still folded. I take out, and try reinserting, try rotating to open, but sometimes it just doesn't open. I keep re-reading the instructions in case I've missed a key step. The times that I have inserted, rotated, and the cup is fully open, I barely feel it and it does a great job of providing leak-proof protection in replacement of tampons. But maybe I am missing something to get it to open easily once inserted... will keep trying!
