FAQ

How are menstrual cups different from tampons?

Aside from being reusable, menstrual cups work by collecting your flow, rather than absorbing it. As a result, they can be left in for longer than tampons and don’t leave you feeling as dried out.

Which size should I choose?

Most folks can wear either size, but you might prefer size A if you’re new to cups, or if you have trouble inserting tampons. Choose size B if you’ve given birth or have a weak pelvic floor.

FAQ Image

What’s the best way to clean my cup after use?

Clean the cup with warm water and a mild, unscented and oil-free soap, making sure the tiny holes under the rim are clear. Dry the cup completely before storing in the breathable cotton bag provided.

What if I need to empty it in a public bathroom?

While unlikely, you may need to empty in public (especially if you have heavy flow). If you're uncomfortable exiting the stall to wash your cup, simply remove & empty as usual, then wipe it with toilet paper before reinserting.

When should I replace my cup?

Inspect your cup regularly for signs of deterioration such as a sticky or powdery film, severe discoloration or odor, etc. If you detect any of these signs, or if you experience irritation, it's time to replace it! Once a year is a good rule of thumb.

Great for beginners!

I am a teenager and have never used a menstrual cup.

It was painful to insert the first time I used this, but now it is a lot easier after a couple of tries.

I find that either the punch-down fold or the 7-fold is the easiest to insert, and it feels uncomfortable the first few seconds after inserting, but the feeling disappears soon.

I used it for 6 hours, and it only filled about half way. It is a great choice for heavy flow as well.

It doesn't feel like anything! The Aisle Cup is like a safer version of tampons, you should definitely give it a try.

This cup is great for teens or beginners like me. Thank you, Aisle.

Not much different

Got this cup to replace the Diva that I have been using for a while. It looks nearly identical but is perhaps a little more flexible. I still get leaks from this cup like I did from the other one but I’m making it work.

Helps mentally and physically

I’ve struggled with long periods due to menorrhagia on and off for many years and it recently came back. I’m no longer able to take what I used to to temporarily reset my cycle which made me feel pretty hopeless and depressed. Pads were starting to chafe and I’ve just never felt good while wearing them. They don’t allow for much comfort.

My friend suggested that I look into alternatives while I wait to see a doctor so it’s not so mentally draining on me. So I did a ton of research and ended up choosing a menstrual cup and some period underwear from here because it seemed like a good company.

This was my first time inserting anything for menstruation and it did take a few days to get it to really suction properly but oh wow does it make a huge difference. I leaked a few times so far but even then it wasn’t that much and I had the period underwear to catch it. And the more I use it the less that happens. This cup does a really good job popping open when it’s time and is decently easy to insert. I find it pretty easy to clean too. The pull tail doesn’t really help me because I find I can’t get a good grip on it, but it’s easy to just pinch the bottom of the cup and remove it so not a big deal.

It helps feel like I’m just able to live my life normally and sit, exercise, and sleep, more comfortably. And I’m not just constantly thinking about my period and if the pad is in place. It’s been such a huge help.

Great cup, but too large

The cup is overall too long for my mid to low cervix and I felt it digging into me no matter how many times I refit it. The lip is also a bit too firm. Sadly this is not the cup for me, however Aisle has some incredible customer service!!!

Best cup yet

I've tried Diva (too long & too firm) and Nixit (generally too big) and Mooncup (not bad) and this is the best cup yet. It's softer than other cups so it is less uncomfortable. It also leaks WAY less - only if I forget to empty it for a long long time! This might because of my anatomy (kinda low cervix) but it is truly the best fit I've found. 10/10 from me.

I still had to cut off the pull tag at the bottom and file it down. I also wear it inside out most of the time which makes the cup fit a little better for me.
