FAQ

How do Aisle BASE period underwear work?

Aisle undies feature a specially-engineered lining that combines super-absorbent Truetex™ technology with a leak-proof layer to keep you dry and feelin’ fly.

Do Aisle period underwear contain PFAS?

No detectable levels of PFAS have been found in our underwear, based on a detectable limit of one part per million

FAQ Image

Do I need to wear a pad or tampon with them?

Our undies are designed to be worn on their own, but they make great backup protection for a tampon or menstrual cup too.

How do you wash Aisle BASE period underwear?

Rinse the gusset in cool water before washing in the machine with your regular laundry. Hang to dry where possible - it saves energy and prolongs the life of your undies! Just make sure they’re fully dry before storing or reusing.

Are BASE underwear compatible with Aisle Boosters?

We kept it super simple and streamlined with BASE undies, so you can just put 'em on and go. There are no pockets in the gusset of BASE undies so there's no need to use Aisle Boosters.

Loved product but sizing chart was off

I really like the quality of the underwear and they are easy to use and absorbent. I had some underwear from the company back when they were Lunapads and appreciated that they used only cotton in their products, as it is the best for maintaining vaginal pH. I think the newer ones do not use cotton, but they are still good quality fabric and I have not noticed any increased problems with itchiness. The only downside is that I ordered size S based on my measurements in the chart, and after a wash (too late to return, unfortunately), it is obvious that that size is too small for me! They are just slightly too small and I normally wear a size S in underwear, so it might be worth adjusting the range or mentioning that the sizes run slightly on the smaller size. I can wear these, but a medium would have been a lot more comfortable.

Still hopeful

My biggest worry about period underwear is that it will feel like wearing a wet bathing suit so I tried these exclusively overnight, twice. Both times they leaked out the gusset side. I had thought that the gusset was too narrow and the leg is cut quite high so there was not enough coverage at the back (some riding up occurred) - maybe I should have sized down? They felt quite stretchy and comfortable at the waist but could've been tighter at the leg (again, not much cheek coverage). I don't love the feel of a longer leg but next time I guess I'll try the shorty/brief style and see if that solves my coverage issues.
